We came out with a melancholy tone for the music for the silence videos, the music track is made by Park Sechan. Silence can be interpret as complete absence of sound, but we take a different perspective and did experiment relating to the mood of silence. By using simple motion graphics and a Pico projector, this experience gives us a glimpse of projection mapping and what can it accomplish. The idea behind this is to break from the silence of action regarding the global issues in the society. I took another different approach relating to silence by making 3 short clips and projecting them into the model shirt. Using slow motion in this exact moment helps emphasize silence in this experiment. As I edit the video, I found something interesting, a boy staring at the camera and being still for a moment. I wanted to catch a glimpse of this paradox by using time-lapse video. Silence can be found anywhere, even on the busy road in the meadow, there is silence (not as absence of sound but rather as absence of communication). I think maybe in the second submission we could do more performance or group working, it will help to build a complete story, also ensure the coherence of style.Īs silence suggests a broad interpretation, I conducted two specific studies and experiments relating to silence, and the possibilities to implement it into this Audio Visual Ensemble project. What’s more, I found blackness is hard to express a specific theme, but it really easy to combine to other’s work. Besides, the blackness should be quite differ from my peer’s work, cause blackness like a ‘break’ to interrupt the whole story, it increase interest to the video. So when i use some abstract image, it will be easier to combine to my peer’ s work. In my opinion, my peer’s work is quite like ‘main course’, and my work is quite like a dessert. Using them just appears one moment, then the darkness come. Then I record some out focus lights, street scene. So I think I should use some light colour. But I found it not strong enough to stand out as a contrast. What I aim to do is use blackness and light to build a contrast of reality and illusion.Īt first, I tried to record some footprints or shadow when I was walking. When blackness appears on a film, it creates a mysterious atmosphere, it gives audience a space to image, also reinforce the content. Posted in Experiment, projection mapping, reference Concept and Motivation behind RevolutionĬompilation video of audiovisual studies / experiments relating to:īlackness is strong. With miniature approach, ambitious project like mapping the whole cityscape is viable. Interesting projection mapping takes a lot of preparation, from the visual materials, sounds, and the surface to be mapped.
